You have seen my posts about the things to do in Batumi and near by. If you have missed , below are the links to them.
In Fact, Batumi has a lot other things to offer. Post Botanical garden, We planned to go to Batumi Funicular. It was a 30 minutes journey from Botanical garden to Batumi Funicular. Fortunately, it was about to sunset en route to funicular. Guess what happened ?! . We got an incredible view of sunset overlooking the Batumi City along the coast of Black sea 🙂 .
After enjoying the sunset, we headed to a place called Batumi Funicular which is located on top of the Anuria mountain. You can either take a cable car from the city to this top of Anuria mountain or go by vehicle. We opted to go by vehicle. Once we reached to the top, we were surprised to get a spectacular of Batumi City.
Note : The Cable Car ride to the top of the mountain will cost you 3 GEL per person.
After Batumi Funicular, Our day did not come to an end. There was much more exciting waiting for us. We planned to roam around the city of Batumi in a chilled weather.
There are numbers of museums, monuments, culture centers, restaurants, parks, squares, religion sites, etc. in the city. Batumi is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities of Georgia and has become a distinguished tourist center in the whole Black Sea region.
There are lots of charming 1 and 2 storey houses in the old part of Batumi, which differ by architecture, style, nice balconies, modeling and tiny gardens.
The Georgian Alphabetic Tower is 130 m tall, the aim of the tower was to introduce the unique and rich culture of the country to the world. The Tower consists of two ring shaped structures, an interior and an exterior wall, crowned by large glass sphere of 30 m in diameter with 33 Georgian letters.
The Love statue of “Ali and Nino” was built on the Coast in Batumi Seaside Park, based on one of the best seller novel of Kurban Said. The height of the statue is 9 m and it weighs 7 tons. It is one of the famous spots in Georgia.
I hope these pics will make you visit Georgia whenever you plan your next travel. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment here.
How to Travel to Batumi by Bus from Tblisi ?
Buses and minibuses (marshrutkas) operate regularly between Batumi and Tbilisi. Travel time is 6 hours and the minibuses are more comfortable than the local marshrutkas in the city. The fare is 18 GEL. The scenery along the way is breathtaking.
