After visiting Zhinvali Water Reservoir and Ananuri Fortress , we were so excited to embrace more of the beautiful Caucasus mountains.
Our Next Stop was to Jvari Pass also known as Krestovy pass which is at a height of 7815m above sea level and is the highest point along the Georgian Military Highway located after the ski resort town Gudauri.
I must say that the trip to Jvari Pass was an experience for a lifetime for us. Lush green mountains dominated the place on the way. The love for Caucasus mountains gradually got increased 😉 . If you are a mountain lover, you should for sure add this place to your bucket list 🙂
Notice the cream color dots on the mountains in the below image. Guess what are they ? They are actually sheeps grazing 😛 . Doesn’t it look wonderful ? 🙂
There is a Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument located between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari pass which was built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and on going friendship between Georgia and Soviet Russia.
We were so eager to see if there are any mountains covered with snow 🙂 but couldn’t 😦 . After some time, we arrived at this beautiful spot . Omg, I could not resist seeing this natural beauty. What a place ! It was ecstatic 🙂 . These mountains made us feel very happy !
Note : The road to Jvari pass will be accessible all throughout the year except if the snow is not cleared during winter. It might get very tough to drive in this place because of bad weather. It is very important to check the weather forecast in this area before setting off and make sure you are well prepared for the trip.
We spent around 45 minutes at this place. One of the beautiful places we have ever visted in our lives 🙂 .
Every place we visited in the north east part of Georgia never failed to impress us. After this place, there was something astounding which added more to our happiness. Stay tuned for my next blog to know about it 😉 !
One more view here :D. A Spectacular Panoramic View of Jvari Pass 🙂 . Enjoy 🙂
I hope these pics will make you visit Georgia whenever you plan your next travel. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment here
